Established in 2003, the Gateway Arts District has been a key contributor to the revitalization of the U.S. 1 corridor in Mount Rainier, Brentwood, North Brentwood, and Hyattsville. By supporting local art events, affordable artist workspace and housing, and infrastructure improvements, it has helped revitalize neighborhoods, created jobs in arts-related businesses, and sustained a vibrant arts community in the County.
The Gateway Arts District features well-known anchors such as the Arts District Hyattsville, the Prince George’s African American Museum and Cultural Center, the Gateway Arts Center managed by the Gateway Community Development Center, and the Mount Rainier Artists’ Lofts.
